Will We Forget Gas and Go Solar?
Right now, there is a cross-country race between two or three cars, capable of going 65 miles an hour. These cars were constructed by students from Northwestern University and use no gasoline at all, but are fueled by solar power.
The sun, if we can harness it, could provide enough energy for all…and it would never run out, supply would always be more than demand. At the moment, these cars hold only one person and they are unwieldy, looking like a cross between a space module and a truck, a capsule for the driver in the center, surrounded by a flat expanse of solar panels. Another design is an auto-like capsule carrying its solar panels in a trailer behind it.
Our personal computers were perfected by young people, who worked with spare parts from the junkyards and built their prototypes in their garages. We may just have to thank young students for a viable alternative fuel….and a Japanese company has already announced that it will add solar panels to its next automobile
i seen that on TV not too long ago,there’s some very intelligent people out there right now working on alternative fuels,their trying harder than the oil company’s are to come up with another source to run a vehicle,and just think we pay the oil company’s to be trying to come up with alternative ways to power a vehicle and these kids do it from old parts,this says something is wrong with the way things are being ran in this country,i think solar would be a good source though,like you said its free and as long as there’s a sun we would never run out of energy.good luck,
